World AIDS Day 2007

30 November 2007 – Reach Out’s celebration of World AIDS Day 2007 began with Mass at Our Lady of Africa Church, followed by a march through the communities we serve, officiated by the UNAIDS Country Coordinator Ms. Jane Wilson. We concluded with a candlelight ceremony in remembrance of the clients we have lost over the past year.

The celebration began at midday with a Mass celebrated by the Papal. Nuncio. Accompanied by a marching band, the group of over 300 clients, volunteers, community members, and guests marched through each village in Mbuya Parish.

The ceremony was followed by song and dance performances by children from the Saturday Children's Club and Friends for Life department.

The celebration closed with a candlelight vigil remembering all of the clients who had died over the years. Each participant was given a candle and the flame was passed around while some of the deceased's names were read.
