Children are at home away from schools where they would meet with teachers and be protected from abuse and domestic violence in homes. Many have been kept away from social capital services such as social networking, health physical exercises.

ROM however has done all it takes to reach out to these
vulnerable children through the community structures of Teenage and adolescents’
supporter (TAS) and OVC team. Continued care and protection have been provided to
the children through consistent phone case management and physical follow up to
households with severe reported cases of abuse. We have also supported the
children to adopt the online education learning sessions organized by the
government on radios and television.

Despite our efforts and commitment, there are continued acts of violence against children and inaccessibility of online education services by some households that can not afford a television nor a radio, this takes the responsibility of all of us to ensure cases of violence against children are reported and appropriate measures taken by the duty bearers and supporting the other children access online education services. This may need financial resources and as ROM, we have very limited resources of the kind. Therefore, help us reach and equally serve every vulnerable child, your financial support matters more than ever. Your donation will help us fill the operation budget gaps.

To donate visit: Our Donate page

Victor Amos Bamutana. -Orphans and Vulnerable Children supervisor When COVID-19 hit the world, many countries went under lockdowns including Uganda.
