{"id":3966,"date":"2020-10-12T13:57:48","date_gmt":"2020-10-12T13:57:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/?p=3966"},"modified":"2020-10-19T07:39:37","modified_gmt":"2020-10-19T07:39:37","slug":"roms-partnership-with-kcca","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/?p=3966","title":{"rendered":"ROM&#8217;s Partnership with  KCCA"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"995\" height=\"613\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Capture-KCCA-BULLETIN-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3967\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Capture-KCCA-BULLETIN-1.jpg 995w, https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Capture-KCCA-BULLETIN-1-300x185.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/Capture-KCCA-BULLETIN-1-768x473.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 995px) 100vw, 995px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Reach\nOut Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) has over the years partnered with\nKampala City Council Authority to&nbsp;improve&nbsp;the&nbsp;health and social\noutcomes&nbsp;for&nbsp;vulnerable&nbsp;people in Nakawa Division.&nbsp;Together\nwith KCCA we have continued to&nbsp;build and&nbsp;foster increased awareness\nof the important&nbsp;health&nbsp;services&nbsp;we offer at ROM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through\nthis partnership, ROM has been able to offer effective services in the\nfollowing areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Provide Primary Health Care (PHC) to the people in Nakawa\ndivision<\/li><li>Adherence, Retention and ART services to HIV\/AIDS positive\nclients<\/li><li>Provision of HTS for everyone to know their status and when\ntested positive started on treatment immediately<\/li><li>TB management through contact tracing and follow up of TB patients<\/li><li>Psychosocial support including behavioral change to youth\nthrough Friend\u2019s Forum and &nbsp;young\nmothers\u2019 clubs<\/li><li>Economic strengthening to women through Village Loans and\nassociation (VSLAS) Groups <\/li><li>Capacity building through trainings and provision of HMIS &nbsp; health systems and piloting data base such as\nthe point of care POC in Kampala District.<\/li><li>Support to Orphaned and Vulnerable children with formal education\nand vocational trainings which has enabled many youths to earn a living <\/li><li>Offered jobs to HIV positive clients who later support fellow\nHIV positive clients in the community<\/li><li>KCCA has provided technical support, training tools, accountability,\nPrimary Health Care funds and continuous strategic plan visits to understand\nwork done by ROM and her achievements as they work together.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;As part of this partnership  ROM published an article in the KCCA Public Health and Environment Bulletin September issue 2 volume 1;   Follow the link to the article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>http:\/\/www.kcca.go.ug\/media\/docs\/KCCA-DPHEBulletin_issue2.pdf#page=15<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) has over the years partnered with Kampala City Council Authority to&nbsp;improve&nbsp;the&nbsp;health and social outcomes&nbsp;for&nbsp;vulnerable&nbsp;people in Nakawa Division.&nbsp;Together with KCCA we have continued to&nbsp;build and&nbsp;foster increased awareness of the important&nbsp;health&nbsp;services&nbsp;we offer at ROM.
