They exhibited their talents in music, dance, and quiz with confidence and self-esteem as they faced the judges.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/y3-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3987\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/y3-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/y3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/y3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.reachoutmbuya.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/10\/y3.jpg 1430w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption> One of the ROM beneficiaries introduces herself before the judges.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Since its inception, the Y+ Beauty pageant has continued to empower young people living with HIV\/AIDS to overcome stigma and discrimination while impacting both young and old people with the message of HIV\/AIDS awareness.\u00a0 The initiative spearheaded by the Uganda Network of Young People Living with HIV\/AIDS \u00a0\u00a0has engaged the young people living with HIV\/AIDS to become ambassadors of change at the community, regional, national, and global levels. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It has created an enabling environment for all young people living and affected by HIV\/AIDS to participate equally in the development of programs that improve their livelihood as they become confident and resilient members of their communities. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Venus Okello, Stigma and Discrimination has always been an obstacle to effective responses to HIV.\u00a0 The y+ beauty pageant is one of the strategies being used to end stigma and discrimination of People Living with HIV.
