Many dressed in white -the organization’s corporate wear, warmly received the day’s message. Rev. Fr. Bruno Sserunkuuma from Bulo Parish in Butambala led Mass and adoration, during which he urged members of staff not to fear receiving the Holy Spirit to take over their lives, for he is our companion given to us by God for guidance.
Sharing in the example of the Apostles, Fr. Bruno appreciated ROM for being a community of believers, who like Jesus’ apostles, exhibit oneness and love for one another. For love is more important than the things we have and touch. “Sometimes we do not know how powerful and great our sharing is to others.” He said.
The minister called upon staff to always engage in prayer through the Name of Jesus and remain committed to their work, just as the apostles remained committed to Jesus’ work even when they were beaten and imprisoned for spreading the Gospel. As believers, referring to such Christian roots, makes us clearly define our purpose in life and gives us the will to overcome trials and tribulations. Then, one can be restored for a better person. He further encouraged staff to be witnesses of Christ, citing Acts 4:33 “With great power, the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God poured rich blessings on them all.”
Relating to St. Catherine of Siena who was given the gift of the Holy Spirit, staff were encouraged to always talk to their colleagues with patience, love and respect, through which their service will automatically bring a difference in the lives of others.
The Executive Director of ROM, Josephine N. Kaleebi greatly appreciated Fr. Bruno for sharing such wonderful message with the staff. She also indebtedly thanked the members of staff for honoring the invitation, and asked them to retain the blessings they received, utilizing them to cleanse their souls so as to serve better. She promised to organize a similar retreat for the clients as ROM continues to impact lives.
Members from Christ the King Church were also present.

By Annet Nakibuuka
Communication and Public Relations Officer

HEARTS MELT AT ROM SPIRITUAL RETREAT It was no ordinary atmosphere at Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) on Friday 29th April when over 150 staff held their spiritual retreat at the organization’s main branch at Mbuya.
