ROM offered HTS services to 32 Youths at Kyambogo University

ROM’s Stella Nakate-the Prevention Technical Officer speaking to participants during the Public Lecture.
In August, ROM participated in the Inter University Public Lecture on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) held at Kyambogo university in Kampala. ROM offered HIV Testing and counselling Services (HTS) to over 30 participants at the Public Lecture. Panelists including ROM’s Stella Nakate emphasized the importance of equipping youths with adequate and correct information on Sexual Reproductive Health that is always missed at school and at home, yet available on online platforms.
Referring to the more than 1000 daily new HIV infections that are reported, Stella noted that because they lack skills and information, young people are not empowered to protect themselves from HIV, defilement, rape and early pregnancy.
“At ROM, we are open to offer services with due diligence to all youths in Kampala. Whenever there’s an opportunity, please write to us and we shall be there in the shortest time possible. Stella said.
Female participants highlighted lack of knowledge regarding menstrual hygiene, poverty, few and less accommodative toilet facilities for girls and stigma as key hinderances
