ROM continues to ground its work in a faith-based holistic model that emphasizes care for the body, mind and spirit as the foundation of effective service delivery. The organization’s approach integrates faith, wellbeing, and professional excellence, recognizing that sustainable impact is achieved when staff are supported holistically and guided by shared values of compassion, integrity, and service.
Building on this foundation, staff gathered on 17th April at ROM Banda Site for a Spiritual Recollection under the theme, “Live in Thanksgiving with Hope” (Romans 5:5).
Leading the reflection, Fr. Deogratius Kiibi emphasized gratitude as a daily discipline and a way of life. He encouraged staff to consistently focus on what they have, noting that thanksgiving shapes perspective and strengthens hope. He reminded participants that appreciation influences outcomes, while negativity limits growth.

“Be grateful every day of your life. Focus on what you have, and you will receive more. Live one day at a time and be thankful. What you appreciate grows, and what you focus on attracts more,” Fr Deogratius Kiibi from St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish, Mpigi.
Fr. Kiibi also spoke to the realities of the current work environment, noting the reduction of projects across the country. Despite these challenges, he called on staff to remain hopeful and purposeful, emphasizing that life is about impact, touching hearts and making meaningful contributions in society.
He challenged staff to pursue excellence in their fields, encouraging them to become highly skilled so their work cannot be dismissed. He emphasized that each person has a daily responsibility to add value, make an impactful contribution, and excel in all areas of service.

He further urged staff to be a blessing and a “game changer” in their communities and workplaces, while also preserving opportunities for those who will come after them. He reminded staff to glorify God through their service delivery and to utilize the grace and gifts entrusted to them fully.
