Training health professionals for excellent service delivery
Maternal and Child Health training to enhance maternal and infant well-being for mother-infant pairs

To improve maternal and infant health outcomes among vulnerable groups like young mothers, midwives, peers and other health workers from the six high volume ROM-KCCA supported facilities in Kampala region; Kiswa, Kisenyi, Kawaala, Komamboga, Kisugu and Kitebi Health Centres participated in a refresher training to be able to provide comprehensive psychosocial support, use the Differentiated Service Delivery Models to monitor the physical health outcomes of young mothers under Group Antenatal Care (G-ANC) and offer Postnatal Care (PNC) through regular home visits in communities.
In efforts to achieve total EMTCT, constant follow up of mother-infant pairs through home visiting is highly essential in improving the maternal and infant outcomes in the first two years. Therefore, peers/mentor mothers are expected to continue using the skill set to conduct effective home visits among young mothers who face unique challenges that can impact theirs and the health of their infants.
