Our Projects
We apply a holistic approach that addresses medical, psychosocial, economic, educational and mental health needs to improve lives in vulnerable communities.

Kampala HIV Project
The Kampala HIV Project (KHP) is a 5-year initiative (2023–2028) implemented by Reach Out Mbuya under a cooperative agreement with CDC Uganda. It focuses on case-finding and prevention, comprehensive care and treatment, and the use of data to drive effective HIV/TB programming.

Internal OVC Program
Through an internal OVC program, we support families affected or infected by HIV/AIDS. With support from partners like SIDECOLE and MARATHON, the program provides educational assistance and essential scholastic materials such as uniforms, shoes, school bags, and stationery to children from vulnerable households.

SHE SOARS Project
The SHE SOARS project (Sexual and Reproductive Health and Economic Empowerment Supporting Out-of-School Adolescent Rights and Skills) aims to deliver inclusive, holistic adolescent sexual and reproductive health, life skills, and financial literacy programming for out-of-school girls aged 10–19.

ROSES OF MBUYA
Roses of Mbuya Social Enterprise is an initiative under Reach Out Mbuya Community Health
Initiative that is focused on empowering vulnerable individuals within underserved urban
communities, through vocational training and skills development

Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe (DREAMS)
Through DREAMS, adolescent girls and young women are gaining practical vocational skills that open doors to independence and self-reliance. From baking to tailoring, the skilling sessions are helping them build confidence, generate income, and shape their own futures.

Maternal Childcare Project
With support from the Mennonite Central Committee – Uganda, ROM is improving maternal and child health in the slum communities of Nakawa Division, Kampala District. Running from April 2021 to March 2026, the project targets young mothers and children under the age of two, addressing their unique health and socioeconomic challenges.

Local Partner Health Services – TB Activity (LPHS-TBA)
The three sub-award project (2022-2025) aim at substantially reducing Uganda’s TB burden by scaling up evidence-based and high-impact interventions toward achieving a 90% TB treatment coverage rate by 2026, through improved TB case detection,
prevention, screening, diagnosis, care, and treatment at Butabika
National Referral Hospital and the catchment areas within Nakawa Division
Past Projects

USAID/ OVC Kampala Activity
This was implemented across five divisions in Kampala. Its primary goal was to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among children and their caregivers.

Grandmothers’ Project under Stephen Lewis Foundation
This was implemented in Kasaala, Luweero, and Kampala districts to improve the well-being of grandmothers and their households.

Sustainable Outcomes for Children and Youth (SOCY)
Implemented in Luwero District, the project supported orphans and vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS across five sub-counties: Bamunanika, Butuntumula, Luwero Town Council, Kalagala, and Kamira. The project improved health, education, nutrition, and protection while integrating DREAMS interventions to empower and safeguard adolescent girls.
