12-year-old receives wheelchair: International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD), 3 December 2020

Christine Kisakye 12 years, is one lucky girl. She was selected to receive a wheelchair donated by Rotary Club Kampala Muyenga Breeze. Christine and her mother both clients of Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative have been struggling with Christine’s mobility given her walking impairment.

“My daughter often gets tired, the walking sticks hurt her armpits she developed wounds in her armpits and faces difficulty moving to school on rainy days.  With the wheelchair, she will be able to do much more than what she is doing. I am grateful to Reach Out Mbuya and Rotary Club Kampala Muyenga because they saw our need and got a solution to it,” says Justine Namwanjje.

Today on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) we need support and promote the full and equal participation of persons with disabilities and take action for their inclusion not forgetting responding to their  urgent needs in all aspects of society.
