How ROM-Tackle friendship enables Young people to embrace positive living through sports

On 5th August, fifteen (15) young people from ROM participated in the Tackle innovator Close Out event dubbed the “VIIV Football Festival” under the theme “Addressing self-stigma in young people living with HIV and improving their mental health and well-being.”

Mainly aimed at creating an exciting, positive and an enriching life experience for these young people, the event is a means to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to the participants. At the event, youths thrilled their peers with different skills in dance, football and other games. They also shared on how to gain confidence to make safe decisions, reduce the chances of contracting HIV and accessed youth friendly services such as HIV testing and counselling.
