ROM-ICYD commemorated the Day of the African Child

The Day of the African Child is commemorated on the 16th Day of every year to remember the school children killed in the 1976 Soweto uprising and the bravery showed in defense of their rights. To mark the day, Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) through the Integrated Child and Youth Development Activity (ICYD) run a number of activities in Kawempe, Makindye and Central divisions of Kampala District.

In line with this years’ theme: The rights of children in the digital environment, children participated and expressed themselves through song, dance, drama, poetry and debates among others. We are grateful to USAID for making this possible. ICYD strives to ensure that children and youths have improved learning outcomes and that they are protected, safe and healthy in their homes, communities and learning environments.
