Meet John Bosco whose self-esteem and entrepreneurship skill was discovered by ROM
“My name is John Bosco Nkuba. I reside at Banda, in Mityana district. I am so happy because my life has drastically changed because of the support I received from Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative.
After going through thorough training, we formed Banda Youth Development Group and we prepare Hard cones. At first, it was not easy as we hadn’t mastered the business art, but now things are better and we are able to serve our customers well.
As youths, we love and enjoy this business because it brings us together; when we gather here, we crack jokes as we work and move forward.
Personally, I hope this business will grow and each one of us will go in depended because hard cones are on market in different places; schools, bars, retail shops. Sometimes the orders even come at night.
However, we need a boost for our business, for example, a sealing machine as these candles burn our fingers and spoil the nails.”
I will always thank ROM and Integrated Youth and Child Development Activity for giving us this opportunity-the Work Readiness Project in Mityana District. We are now useful youths who discovered our abilities. Today, I can speak before a big gathering something I could not do before. Mary, Michael and Stephanial did great work to help us discover who we are. Truth is, knowing who you are and what you can do is gold.” John Bosco said.
