The Research Function in 2022

ROM conducts clinical, behavioral, and operational research while maintaining systems and procedures compliant with the International Conference on Harmonization of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use Good Clinical Practice guidelines (ICH GCP). In 2022, a number of research studies were published.

Conclusion: “A holistic approach of care model ensures that patients are empowered in all facets of their lives, as well as fostering the creation of strong communities that can support anti-AIDS efforts that result in improved treatment outcomes…”
An abstract: Men’s uptake of HIV services was presented at the INTEREST 2022 Conference at Speke Resort Munyonyo.

b). Emmanuel, S., Loy, A. A., & Patrickson, A. (2022). Utilization of ART Services Among People Living with HIV During the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Case of Kampala District. The Open AIDS Journal, 16(1). https://doi.org/10.2174/18746136-v16-e2208170

c). Innovation; 2023 Recipient, best innovation award for continuity of HIV, TB and malaria services during the COVID-19 pandemic in Uganda by ministry of Health, Global fund and Makerere University school of public health.

d). Provision of ART Services to Adolescent Girls During the Covid-19 Pandemic; Lessons from a Community-=Based Organization (CBO) in Uganda was also presented at the International Workshop on HIV and Adolescence, in South Africa.
