World AIDS Day 2021: Community Activity in Katoogo and Kasenyi
For this years’ World AIDS Day and to commemorate ROM @ 20, Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) conducted a community activity in Katoogo and Kasenyi Communities. A team of medical and community staff carried out health awareness services and home visits to needy households.
As ROM reached out to the two communities and set up the venue, the volume of inquiries were high and many people turned up to be tested for HIV and counseled. Some younger adults from the communities joined in to own the awareness campaign holding up posters with encouraging quotes relating to how important it is, to be sure of one’s status.
Meanwhile, a team of community workers carrying out home visits delivered food and nutrition hampers to vulnerable families. All in all 100 food hampers were distributed to the most needy households in the two communities.
ROM is happy to celebrate another year of service delivery to people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS. Working towards curbing the further spread of infections among less privileged members of society.
